COMING INTO PRESENCE: The Return

Message from the artist about the works presented at Wild Geese Gallery:

“It used to be that my work had the energy of seeking, pushing to look more closely in order to awaken the mundane. Now, it’s simpler than that. It is awakening presence within me while I work. I’m playing with presence with photography as the driving means by which to awaken myself. Putting more awareness around the action of using the camera as a tool to look even more closely, in a way that my eyes are unable (or no longer able) to do, is the process. The energy of that deep engagement is embedded in the image, the moment of capture. 

I’m an energy worker - healer and coach - I work with plant medicines in my own wellness and spiritual development practices and I guide others in processing and integrating their own experiences. The seeking that was originally in my work was a direct result of my mystical, meditative and psychedelic experiences. Searching the material world for hidden doorways to deepen my experience of the present everyday in order to better remember what I had come in contact with. The seeking energy had transmuted into allowing the surface and light to be as it is, entering into communication with the object, dharana, which is reflective of my being and my energy at the time of creation. This energy is healing and transformative for me, as the artist, and may it be a doorway for healing and a deeply transformational experience for the viewer as well.”
